Jean Body Engagements

Jean Body Engagements brings Prince’s Jean Bodies into public space through shared making and conversation. Completed sculptures are shown alongside the creation of a new work developed with community participation. Visitors are invited to bring jean donations, join in hand-working the materials, and talk together as the sculpture takes shape. As individual contributions are completed, Prince ties them together on site, forming one collective work through many hands. The project centers connection, reuse, and the ways everyday actions can build community through care and collaboration.

The above images document the fourth of Prince’s Jean Body Engagements was held at Prairie Underground (Georgetown, Seattle, WA) on September 13, 2025. Previous community events in this series have been held at the 2024 Seattle Art Fair, Mini Mart City Park, and Method Gallery. This event was supported, in-part, by Prairie Underground, Mini Mart City Park and private community partners like you!

Prince’s Jean Body Engagements are always free and open to the public - come as you are, arrive how you can.
